Oatmeal cookies

As it turns out, sugar isn't good for me. This is a shock, obviously, as I was certain my body ran exclusively on the thing. Nevermind though, I must adapt, I can't let my liver prevent me from baking my way to another doctor's appointment. In the meantime, oatmeal cookies felt like a sensible way to compromise.

Almond, pecan and honey granola

Let's get this out of the way: yes, I know granolas are the hipster version of muesli, I know it's the current foodie buzzword and I'm a total douchebag for partaking. Well screw you and your stuck-up nonsense. Granola is delicious and I can eat it while fixing my fixie whenever I want. YOU DON'T OWN ME.

Napolitan puffs

You all know the Icarus story. That guy who thought "Hey, it'd be cool if I were a bird" and then he tried, he failed, and they laughed at him so much they made a myth about him. I tried to do a complicated piece of traditional patisserie, I failed, Icarus. However, even if the result is not the one intended, it's still really really good.

Key lime meringue pie

It's also called the sugarbomb in some countries. Regardless, this is a fairly simple dessert, and an usual crowd-pleaser. It easily fits into a summery menu of some sort. Granted, you won't look your best in teeny tiny little bikinis after that, but let's face it, your best is far, far away. Embrace it and move on.

Almond cream and peach pie

Yeah so let's not pretend this is me making a durable return to updating this blog. It's just that I actually kind of like being the obnoxious baker that once every blue moon posts something. This time, I come to you with a pie that's not really a pie, and that's a subtle hijack of a much more difficult piece of baking: a peach and almond pie.

Classic chocolate cake with red berries

Because sometimes people ask you for "a chocolate cake" and you feel like you've been insulted. You're a diva that way. You need to make things a bit more special. So there you are, berries.

M&Ms chewy cookies

I have no credit for this recipe, and it's probably one of the least healthy treat out there, so that should give you plenty of motivation to bake these. It's one of the best cookie dough recipes out there in terms of texture and balance.

Strawberry Tiramisu with waffles

So far, this Spring has been pretty shitty. If you're in Western Europe, you're having thoughts about finding the nearest weather drone and kick its metaphorical teeth in. However, let's not spoil our fun: some of the summery food and treats are there and we should use them. Therefore: strawberry tiramisu, yes, let's do that.

Yellow cake with salted caramel icing

Let's make this simple, I have been away. It's not that you didn't deserve me, it's just that you didn't quite make the cut. It's not you, it's me. Let's just be friends. I'm doing this for you. And now that we've had our fill of clichés, I suggest we move on to this soft and sticky goodness of a cake up there, yes?
